What is a custom transfer?
A custom transfer is your own artwork printed onto a carrier film and finished so it is ready to apply. You do not need a printer, a cutter, or design software beyond whatever made the file. You get a sheet, you apply it, and the design ends up on the product.
Which kind of transfer you want comes down to what you are decorating. Fabric takes a heat-applied DTF transfer. Hard surfaces like tumblers and glass take a UV DTF transfer that needs no heat at all. Everything else is a detail.

Not sure? The short version: fabric means DTF, hard surfaces mean UV DTF, and if you are ordering more than a couple of designs, a gang sheet will be the cheapest way to get them.
How ordering custom transfers works
1. Get your file ready
A PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI at final print size gives the best result. Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, and Cricut Design Space all export something usable. Drop it into the artwork quality checker and it will tell you if the resolution is too low before you spend anything.
2. Lay it out and price it
Open the builder, drop your designs in, and it packs them onto the sheet for you so you are not paying for empty film. Custom sheets are 22 inches wide and any length from 5 to 150 inches, from $0.025 per square inch, with the rate dropping as the sheet gets longer. 3. We print, you apply
Orders ship within 72 hours and most leave within 24, printed in house in Casa Grande, Arizona. Free USA shipping over $50, or pick up locally in Arizona. Application takes seconds per design, and the step-by-step instructions cover both DTF and UV DTF.
What custom transfers are good for
- Small apparel brands. Print five of a design instead of the fifty a screen printer needs, and find out what sells before committing.
- Teams, schools, and fundraisers. Names and numbers on the same sheet as the logo, no per-color charge. There are school and military discounts for this.
- Markets and craft fairs. Press to order at the booth, or bring finished stock and restock from a sheet.
- Businesses and uniforms. Logo transfers you can apply as staff turns over, instead of reordering embroidered shirts.

Custom transfer questions
What is the minimum order for custom transfers?
There is none. One transfer is a real order and costs the same per square inch as a hundred, because there are no screens to set up and no setup fees to spread out.
How much do custom transfers cost?
Custom DTF sheets start at $0.025 per square inch on a 22 inch wide sheet, with the rate dropping as the sheet gets longer. Transfers ordered at a fixed size are priced per transfer. Nothing is charged for extra colors.
Do you charge for multiple colors in a design?
No. A photograph and a one-color logo cost the same, since the whole sheet is printed in one pass. This is the main way custom transfers differ from screen printing on price.
Can you make custom transfers from a Canva design?
Yes, as long as you export it correctly. Canva’s default download is too small for print, so use the high resolution PNG export with a transparent background. Walkthrough: saving a high-resolution image in Canva.
What is the difference between custom transfers and iron-on vinyl?
Vinyl is cut, so every color is a separate layer you have to weed and align by hand, and gradients are not really possible. A custom DTF transfer is printed, so it handles photographs and fine detail in one piece with nothing to weed. Full comparison: DTF vs vinyl.
